I was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND and moved to Sioux Falls with my husband and our two dogs in 2007. I have a teenage step-daughter and we enjoy spending time outdoors golfing, gardening, riding motorcycles, and hitting the dog park. I have a passion for animals and enjoy working with organizations dedicated to animal welfare and rescue. This is my first foray into blogging and I look forward to joining the conversation!
Julie Ward
Marketing Communications Director at Avera McKennan
As a graduate of the University of North Dakota with a B.A. in English, I took a few career detours into agriculture, construction and event centers, before landing in the healthcare industry in 2007 (never let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything with an English major!). So much so that I am five classes away from completing a M.S.A.S in Healthcare Administration at the University of South Dakota – the light is at the end of the tunnel! As Avera McKennan’s marketing communications director, I oversee (along with an incredibly talented team of individuals) internal and external communications, media & public relations, partnerships & sponsorships and events.
